Change the way you think about faith at work

iWork4Him—It's A statement about life, a declaration of faith, and a life plan. It is possible to work for Him, and it's a challenge worth choosing. To say "iWork4Him" confidently shows purpose in your work. Let's break it down.

"i"

Me, myself, and i. The i is lower case, making someone else the focus. This personal statement declares a conviction.

"Work"

God created work as a gift from Him. From the very beginning, He worked with Adam in the garden.

So the LORD God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would call them, and the man chose a name for each one. He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals. But still, there was no helper just right for him (Gen. 2:19-20 NLT).

God gave us work to bring about flourishing to our souls and not as a punishment for sin in the garden. God created work first as a gift to you and me. Work is where we meet people who are not like us and don't believe as we do. It is the largest mission field on the planet. God created work on purpose and for a purpose. You and I are designed with a unique set of gifts, talents, and abilities to do our work with excellence.

"4"

3 + 1 = 4 The number 4 represents Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and You. Working for Him is a team effort. The three parts of God teamed up with you. You are focused on Him in your work, keeping your eyes on the Lord and His end game. You don't work for your boss or yourself, not even your family. You work 4 Him.

"Him" — Almighty God

Him with a capital H is our Heavenly Father. You and I are image-bearers of the Almighty Creator, God of the Universe. He created you for work. God is a worker, and so are you. Our focus is on Him.

"iWork4Him"

iWork4Himis a mindset and statement of faith. It's a revelation and a revolution. A revelation from God that our work matters to Him and He intended to work alongside us. It's a revolution against the status quo for Christianity. Most Christians are deactivating their faith when they get to work. Rules and fear squelch their witness for Jesus. However, God and a few of us Jesus-followers can radically impact our country through vibrant Christianity, the kind of radical Christianity that transformed the Roman Empire. Our Father has gifted us with the power of the Holy Spirit to bring radically good news to the lost we encounter in the marketplace.

America's workplaces are the largest mission field we face. Many ministry opportunities exist in our workplaces because we work alongside so many who are lost and hopeless.

iWork4Him: When you surrendered your life to Jesus, you went through a radical transformation. You are a new creature in Christ. Everything about you is changing, including how you view your work and the people who work with you. Radical faith brought on by following Jesus is transformational.

Faith in Jesus transforms you and impacts everyone around you, even if they don't believe in Jesus. Transformational faith is changing the world one person at a time.

Now it's time for your faith in Jesus to transform your workplace. Too many workplaces are devoid of Christians living out their faith. We can't give up our workplace territory to the enemy of our souls. It's time we stand up and shout for all to see and hear: "Here am I; send me! iWork4Him!"
