Raising Tech-Healthy Humans — guest: Daniel Sih

If our children are to be apprentices of Jesus, then they cannot continue to use technology as they are. Technology preys on certain parts of the brain, especially at a young age, and interferes with the development of the relational devices required for true heart connection with one's family and peers.

Guest Daniel Sih explains why and how technology affects us, the lasting repercussions of too much tech use, how to limit screen time after having allowed too much, and what kind of tech use is beneficial and what isn’t. His insight sheds light on how to bring our children back to themselves, their humanity, and God.

Highlights include why Daniel decided to move from pastor to businessman, the difference between your "downstairs brain" and your "upstairs brain," the emergence of increased neurodiversity in children due to technology, principles of leaning forward and back and near and far work, how to limit your child’s screen time in a lasting way, the humanity we lose through tech addiction, and how ordinary and mundane experiences shape our lives

Daniel, who lives in Tasmania with his wife and children, is a productivity consultant, professional speaker, and award-winning author of Spacemaker and Raising Tech-Healthy Humans. He is passionate about changing the way we interact with the digital world in life and work. Learn more, and connect with him, at his website.
