"May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands" (Psalm 90:17).
We all want purpose in life and work; but, an all-too-common belief creates a powerful drain on your purpose. We call this a short circuit. It stops you from switching God "on" even if you fully understand that God created work and enjoys it when you work well.
It can trap you in Monday Morning Atheism despite your best efforts to escape. This short circuit is the belief that only some parts of life are spiritual.
A short circuit is something that disrupts proper flow, or in this case, proper understanding. We can miss the main truth or point.
Short circuits in our thinking or beliefs are dangerous because they can cause damage to our entire work life. Total spiritual blackout happens in some cases. Nobody wants a short circuit showing up on Mondays!
The truth is that God wants every part of your life, so every part of your life is spiritual. That includes your work, no matter what kind of work it is.
The belief that only some parts of life are spiritual is a lie. If you allow any semblance of this lie to take root on your Monday, or any day for that matter, you are devaluing the unique talents, skills and purpose God has given to you.
