Seeking the wisdom of God

"But do people know where to find wisdom? Where can they find understanding?"
God alone understands the way to wisdom; he knows where it can be found,
"And this is what he says to all humanity: 'The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.'"
Job 28:20, 23, 28 (NLT)
Deep reverence is true wisdom. Forsaking evil is real understanding. As bottom lines go, these parallel thoughts are truer than true.
Today, wise men and women will prove these truths in prudent living.
Today, those who esteem themselves smarter than God will seek exceptions to these rules. Hopefully, they will discover as soon as possible how delusional it is to continue trying to prove God wrong.
Reverent awe shifts our perspectives. Instead of looking within or looking around for the ever-elusive who knows what, we look instead at what God has done and what God has said.
How amazing is it when time-bound creatures made of dust and who are destined to return to dust lecture other dusty creatures about how they did not come from dust and are not returning to dust and how they can be whatever they want to be?
How intellectually dishonest is it when people who spend a third of their lives asleep and regular intervals during their waking hours in rooms full of porcelain fixtures that they dare tell others there is a better way than God's way?
How wise it is instead when we realize:
1. I don't know it all.
2. I can't know it all.
3. It's not all worth knowing.
4. The most important knowledge is knowing and experiencing God who does know it all and who knows our best next steps in all circumstances at all times now and forever.
These are simple, powerful truths.
These simple, powerful truths set us free to focus on what matters most. Focus expands. Goodness multiplies. Grace amplifies. Kindness maximizes.
