Dear Abundant God, You are more than our current anxieties, worries, concerns and doubts. You are a God that is both sovereign and has an unlimited supply. Our current issues or situations do not limit You.
You are a good God and father that knows how to give good gifts to Your children (James 1:17). You want to provide exactly what we need to do the work that You have called us to complete (2 Corinthians 9:8). Help us to believe that You are a God that can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to Your power that works with us (Ephesians 3:20).
Today we pray that You will provide the way to meet our needs. Remind us that You are a God that will meet every need that we have according to the riches You have in Your glory (Philippians 4:19). You are the God that always provides a way.
Remind us today of Moses, who faced an impossible situation with the Red Sea on one side, and the Egyptian army on the other, “You said to” take a step in the water, and You provided a way for Moses to pass through on the dry land.
Remind us today of Joseph, who was betrayed by his brothers and was waiting in a pit to die, and yet You reminded him of the promise that someday he would be the second in command of all of Egypt to save the nation Israel. You provided a way from him to get out of the pit and find his way to Egypt.
Remind us today of Noah, whom You called to build in ark amid a dry season. He had no reason and no resources, and yet You gave him everything he needed, including the details of the dimensions of the ark. You revealed Your plan for the pathway that would save him and his family from the flood. When he could not see a way, You provided the way.
Remind us today of David who had jeopardized his faith and the promises of the nation because of his sin with Bathsheba. He did not know how to get out of the mess that he had created and yet You were a God that provided a way. You sent a servant by the name of Nathan to come and speak words of life to David when he said: “You are the man!”
From Nathan’s words, You provided a way for David to repent and cry out to You for You to create in Him a pure and clean heart. When David could not find his way, You provided a way.
Remind us today of Jonah, who had been called to preach to a city called Nineveh, and yet he did not want to lose control of what he wanted to do. As he fled, You sent a big fish to swallow Jonah so that his spirit could be broken and he could find a time to get to the end of himself and find You. When Jonah wanted to make his own way, You provided the means to Jonah that led him to the city so that the entire town was saved. When there was no way, You provided the way!
Remind us today of Queen Esther, who was selected to be in the king’s court because of her beauty but seemed not to have any power. You sent Mordecai, who discovered an evil plan to kill all of Your people. There seemed to be no way to stop it, and yet You provided a way. You sent Mordecai to Esther to remind her that ‘for such a time as this she had been called.’
She exposed the plan, and God not only saved his people, but his people were also celebrated and elevated. You do not lack in Your supply of way to provide a way to Your people.
And remind us today of Jesus Christ. When the people were lost as sheep without a shepherd, You sent Your Son who can save the entire world from their lostness. When Your Son was put on a cross and crucified, and it seemed as if all was lost, You used the cross as a way to provide salvation to the people of that day and for the people of this day. You provided a way!
So today, we praise You for being a rock on which we can stand in the midst of shifting and changing time. Today, we praise You for saving our souls. We praise You for testing and trying us just as silver is tried. We praise You for the burdens that we face knowing that we can come to You and You will make our burden light. Today, we praise You for bringing us through fire and the water so that we can come out on the other side in the land and place of abundance (Psalm 66:8-12).
We pray and acknowledge You as the God who provides a way. Provide a way for us to see You at this time and in this place. Provide clarity for us to know that You will give us today precisely what we need for today. Provide us a way to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness so that all of these things will be added unto us.
These are the things that we pray today. In Jesus’ names, Amen.
