Now is the time: The Charlie Kirk memorial service that shook the world
ChatGPTThis past Sunday, I and millions of Americans—as well as many millions more around the world—watched a truly historic worship service.
Everything I had planned to do on Sunday afternoon changed. I intended to check out Charlie Kirk's memorial service on and off throughout the day, but instead I ended up riveted for nearly five hours.
My jaw kept dropping as the gospel was presented over and over on the international stage. And it wasn't just Charlie's pastor, wife and colleagues sharing their faith—every member of Trump's cabinet who spoke gave glory to Jesus Christ.
Watching this service strengthened my hope for this country. From Marco Rubio's and JD Vance's clear presentations of the gospel, to Erika Kirk's forgiveness of her husband's assassin, even to President Trump's acknowledgment of the Almighty, the name of Jesus was proclaimed from the mountaintop in a way never heard before.
Marketplace leaders, now is the time to be bolder with the gospel in our own spheres of influence. People's eternity is on the line. Pastors, now is the time to preach the truth more boldly to the throngs of people suddenly open to hearing the gospel. Husbands, now is the time to answer Erika Kirk's challenge to lead our wives and families with courageous love.
Something has changed in America. I for one don't want to quench the revival fires in my own heart. I thank God for using Charlie's death to intensify the light of Jesus in this dark world.
We have witnessed history. Now is the time to follow where God leads us next!
