"O Lord, do good to those who are good, whose hearts are in tune with you" (Psalm 125:4).

A heart in tune with God is a heart God will bless with all of his goodness.

The first task of morning is attunement. Attunement is more important than alignment. Have you ever met a soul in tune with God who deliberately chose to walk out of alignment with God? Probably not.

So many days I awake with a song on my mind, a tune in my heart. My wife and the rest of the earth are well pleased when I do not attempt to sing it aloud. Yet the soundtrack of my spirit resounds with songs of worship, praise, and thanksgiving.

This is true even on Monday after vacation when my heart and mind linger on the soft morning breezes and sights and sounds of a distant land by the ocean shore.

How is your heart today? What song is playing on repeat this morning? Do you need to switch stations from the blues and the news to songs reminding you of better views?

Attune your heart to God's playlist for this day. Sing with him all along the way. Look for his good gifts where you live, work, and play.

Our Father, bless me with a song for this day, this season, this life. Amen.
