How to get a jolt of wisdom in less than a minute
ChatGPTIf you have a few moments while you're waiting in line somewhere, you probably grab your phone for a few bits of content sugar, don't you? I mean, might as well put the time to good use.
Here's something to try instead. Open Youversion or a Bible app and choose a random chapter from Proverbs. Then start scrolling.
You'll find nuggets of meat that take no more time to consume than one of those short videos on your social feed. And yet the meat will actually nourish you, rather than just tickle your brain with empty, dopamine-laced calories.
Today, I chose chapter 17. As I swiped through the bullet-point verses, I was reminded how blessed I am to have grandchildren. How powerful it is to forgive. That rebuking a wise person helps them immensely. That I shouldn't confront a fool in the middle of their foolishness.
That stopping a quarrel early on prevents pain. That we shouldn't spend money or effort educating a fool. That a cheerful heart benefits our bodily health. That a wise person uses few words and is even-tempered.
And that even fools look smart if they keep their mouths shut!
Try it. Resist the brain sugar and instead go for a protein bite. Pick a chapter and start scrolling.
Chewing,
