We are in uncharted waters in this country. In a sense, yes, there is "nothing new under the sun" (Eccl. 1:9), but many of us have not seen our world turned upside down like it seems to be today.
But, this shouldn't surprise believers. Christ said, "In the world you will have tribulation" (John 16:33). What Scripture or promise of God gets you through difficult situations?
Here are 20 Bible verses that will comfort you.
1. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 4:6-7).
2. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jer. 29:11).

6. "Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen." (Jude 24-25).
7. "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?" (John 14:1-2).

10. "Be gracious to me, O God, for man tramples on me; all day long an attacker oppresses me; my enemies trample on me all day long, for many attack me proudly. But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you." (Ps. 56:1-3).
