You're a leader. You're in charge! Right?
Wrong…
We may be given authority over some areas of our lives, but there's someone else who is in control. I fully believe God is in control.
I hope you do too.
These 10 verses will remind you who is in charge. And it's not you. It's someone who watches over you and those you lead.
1. Joshua 1:9 - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
God tells us that He will be with us wherever we go. There's no need to be afraid.
Remember, God is with you. He sticks close. He is in control!
2. Deuteronomy 31:8 - "It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."
This verse is similar to Joshua 1:9. We're once again reminded that God is with us, He goes beforeus, and he will not forsake us.
Hold this verse close if you feel abandoned by God. He has not and will not abandon you. He is with you always and is in control.
3. Psalm 23:3 -"He refreshes my soul, He guides me along the right paths for his names' sake."
I often share about how we need to find time to rest. Our bodies and mind need the restoration that comes from these periods of rest.
Yet, in reality, true rest and restoration don't come from taking time off. True rest comes from the One who is in control.
4. Philippians 4:6-7 - "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
If we're not to be anxious about anything and, instead, pray to God, that means God is in control. Make sure you're bringing your needs and worries to the One who can alleviate them.
5. Proverbs 19:21 - "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."
What are the plans you have for your life? They're probably good.
Yet, God has something better.
Proverbs 19:21 tells us this. We have our own plans. However, God's purpose and plans will prevail.
Rest easy in this knowledge!
6. Jeremiah 10:23 -"Lord, I know that people's lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps."
We think we're in control of what we do, how we do it, and where we go. Jeremiah 10:23 tells us differently. Instead of being in control, we're being directed by God.
God is moving us to where He desires us to be. We may make choices, but in the end, we're directed by God.
7. Genesis 50:20 - "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."
The story of Joseph in Genesis is a stirring tale. It could be said there was pride, anger, resentment, and more in Joseph's story as he is sold into slavery and rises to Pharaoh's top assistant.
Joseph's brothers planned for evil. God planned for good.
In the end, Joseph's direction came from God. He was placed where he was so lives could be saved. The same goes for you. You've been placed where you are for a specific reason. Discover it!
8. Proverbs 16:4-9 -"The Lord works out everything to its proper end—even the wicked for a day of disaster. The Lord detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished. Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord evil is avoided. When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone's way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them. Better a little with righteousness than much gain with injustice. In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps."
Proverbs is a great book of the Bible. There is so much wisdom contained within it.
Verses 16:4-9 remind us once again that God is in control. He will work out everything to hisend. Be aware of this as you go through your days. God knows the end and is working toward it.
9. Romans 8:28 -"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."
God has a plan. He knows you and knows where you need to be.
Romans 8:28 tells us as much.
Love God. Follow His purpose for your life. God is in control.
10. 1 Samuel 2:6-7 -"The LORD brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and raises up. The LORD sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts.
Again, God is in control. Whether there is death or life, poverty or wealth, He is the one who controls it all."
Rest in this fact. God is there, with you, through it all.
God is in control.
